We believe in a resilient, site-sensitive architecture that embraces the unique circumstances inherent in each project and place. Our work is shaped by clearly articulated ideas rooted in the integration of PROGRAM, SITE + TECHNOLOGY. More than a catalog of rooms and sizes, PROGRAM is an outline of a social idea about people and institutions. SITE, for us, transcends landscape to encompass the cultural and broader environmental context our projects strive to engage with intention. By examining the unique intersection of these fundamental conditions, and coupling that inquiry with thoughtful technical execution, this philosophy yields work that is client-specific, place-rooted, and contributive to community and culture. We call this approach POETIC PRAGMATISM: a philosophy that embraces utility and constraint while pushing each project beyond its perceived limitations, to produce built work that is practical, inspiring, and firmly of its place.
