Throughout her career, Heather has focused on Public Interest Design, collaborating with nonprofits and mission-driven clients to create spaces that serve and uplift communities—including multiple affordable housing developments in North Carolina.In 2022, Heather founded Prism Design Lab, an arts education nonprofit that introduces young people—particularly those currently underrepresented in the profession—to architecture and design. Developed in collaboration with other architects, artists, educators, and community leaders, Prism is rooted in the belief that broadening access to design education strengthens both the profession and the built environment.In addition to leading Prism as Executive Director, she is a member of the SEED Network, the Association for Community Design, and the National Organization of Minority Architects.
